2 1/2 cups flour
5 eggs, separated
6 tablespoons sugar
1 cup butter
2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
2 cups apricot jam
1 cup sugar
3 cups ground walnuts

In bowl, combine flour, egg yolks, sugar, butter, and vanilla. Blend with a fork until dough leaves side of bowl. Press into an 11x16-inch baking pan. Spread with jam. Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually add 1 cup sugar. Fold in nuts. Spread over jam. Bake in preheated 350 oven for 30 or so minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
